| The "Self Check In" block is an accessory block of the [[:auth:selfcheckin|"Self Check In" authentication method]]. It allows displaying on screen of a QRCode to redirect students present in the classroom to a secured sign-in form so they can create their account on the fly. | This plugin allows for the generation of a QR code which can be displayed on screen or shared with users , that redirects students to a secured sign-in form so they can create their account on the fly and easily join the concerned course. |
| |
| | This block is therefore particularly useful for a teacher. |
| ====Scenario==== | ====Scenario==== |
| |
| The scenario assumes that the Moodle site is physically projected onto a visible screen of the learners (interactive table, projection screen, monitor). The teacher displays to the students the "access point" of the course by browsing to the blocks content. Learners scan the QRCode with their mobile device and are redirected to an sign-in form. They can directly create their account on the mobile, without the need for validation by email (email remains requested as mandatory information to create the account). An identification (login) in the email format in this case will be preferred, to avoid identifier collision issues with existing identifiers. | |
| |
| <html><!-- nomoodle --> | Remotely, the teacher sends an image of the QR code to students via email or SMS. |
| | |
| | Alternatively, in a face-to-face setting (using an interactive whiteboard, projection screen, or monitor), the teacher displays the QR code associated with the lesson to the students. |
